Mrs. Parrow

Hello, My Name Is...

Mrs. Parrow

September 2015
Dear Families,

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome both you and your child to third grade.  This will be a very exciting year for all of us.  I am both pleased and honored to be teaching your child.  I look forward to meeting you at Open House.  Our classroom is Room 112, located in the primary wing.

In providing for your child’s supplies for the school year, I ask that you send in the following supplies at your convenience.  (This is the same list that was sent home with your child with their report card at the end of last year.)

  • Box of colored pencils    *1 spiral-subject notebook
  • Box of 24 crayons        *Highlighter
  • 2 dry erase markers      *one zippered pencil case
  • Pencil erasers             *2 glue sticks
  • 6 sharpened pencils with erasers  * one pair of small scissors

A box of tissues and wipes for the cold season, and some paper Dixie cups would also be greatly appreciated. Thank you to those of you that have already sent these in.

The days of our specials are as follows:

Monday     Music

Tuesday    Art

Wednesday  P.E.

Thursday    Health and Library

Friday      Technology

I will assign homework Monday through Thursday each week. The assignments should take 15-20 minutes to complete and are expected in the next morning. I also ask that a parent sign the homework assignment book on a daily basis.

Reading alone or reading aloud to someone for a minimum of 20 minutes each night will also be part of the daily homework.  I will send home a calendar each month so that you and your child can monitor this very important activity. Please sign it at the end of each month so that your child will get credit for their time spent reading.

If your child will be traveling home via a different route, a note is required. Please keep in mind, walkers can not ride the bus. A note is also required for any absence.

Please complete and return the following forms as soon as possible:

  • Emergency cards (2)

Please feel free to contact me at any time during the school year if you have any concerns or questions about your child.  You may write a note or leave a message in the office.  I will get in touch with you as soon as possible.

I am very excited to have the opportunity to share in your child’s learning experience this year.
