Chorus at Paper Mill School

The chorus is open to any fourth or fifth grader who wishes to join. We rehearse every Thursday morning, before school, from 7:45-8:45 in the music room. In addition to singing new and challenging pieces, the chorus members learn vocal technique and musical skills that will enhance their singing abilities and give them an appreciation for lots of different types of vocal music.

This performing group presents five programs during the school year. The first concert is our Paper Mill Winter Concert in December. The chorus performs along with the primary classes and the school band. In the spring the chorus  performs for the annual Arts Festival and the Memorial Day Program along with the fourth and fifth grade classes and the school band. In late May or early June the chorus culminates its year with a daytime school assembly concert and an evening concert. The Spring Program consists of music that the group has been working on since January and always includes a wide variety of styles.

The Paper Mill Chorus also takes the opportunity to perform in an out of school setting. For the last couple of years we have performed our spring program for the residents of the American Inn in Southwick.

A student participating in the Paper Mill School  Chorus will be expected to do the following:

           1. Attend all rehearsals regularly.
                 2. Attend all concerts and performances.
                 3. Exhibit responsible behavior.
                 4. Make a commitment for the full year.
                 5. Wear concert attire to our performances.
